
Aylin O. Jones
Managing Director at Fluppet’s Montessori Nursery School Ltd
Aylin Jones has a stellar track record for successful teaching and education and has been teaching children of all ages for over two decades. She grew up in Turkey within a family consisting of a Civil Engineer (father), social worker/volunteer (mother) and a sister who became a chemist. Mrs. Jones was always inspired by the family to take on tutoring, mentoring and extra-curricular roles as early as ten years of age. Mrs Jones’s upbringings and childhood experiences helped to shape her academic journey and as a teenager she was already moving from home to the university campus where she has started her first degree in Turkey.
After several years of hard work, Mrs. Jones gained her Bachelors of Education (BEd) and Master of Science (MSc), both with first-class honours at the institute of Health Sciences (Neuropsychology). She then began her PhD in Education Psychology at the same university. During her studies, Mrs. Jones gained experience working as an assistant at the university and was able to take part in some academic research with her colleagues. She was proud to be able to present her Master Thesis (Effects of Musical Activities on Brain Waves and Trait Anxiety) at one of the International Congresses of Education.
Other articles she has published have various national and international symposiums include “Promoting Active and Healthy Lifestyles”,“Neurological Facts of Sports Skills”,”Recreational Entertainment and Game Conceptions of Different Communities”,”The Effects of Different Discipline Methods on Employees’ Motivation in Company”. During this period, Mrs. Jones joined in the Council’s Youth Federation as a volunteer tutor to organise summer sports activities and support the academic development of local families and children in need. She also took part in national and international sport organisations as a qualified basketball referee and statistician. The same time, she qualified as a Scouting Leader at the International Union of Guides and Scouts of Europe.
During her PhD studies, she decided to emigrate to Great Britain to follow her ambition to extend, broaden and develop her career on different platforms. Mrs. Jones decided to specialise in Early Years, and she completed another degree in International Montessori Pedagogy at MCI (Montessori Central International) and achieved Merit in teaching practice in London. During her studies, she took part time jobs to improve her understanding of British culture; she started to work as an au-pair; supporting and caring for young children aged 0-6. She has also worked at a local deli shop where she learned a lot of skills in food preparation and catering.
After completing her Early Years’ qualification, Mrs. Jones worked in different settings across London over the course of ten years, gaining a wealth of experience in teaching and caring for young children. Mrs. Jones had a key role of creating and supervising the Montessori environment as well as guiding other members of staff in Montessori methodology. At the same time, she took an important role of mentoring MCI teaching practice students at the settings she worked for many years. During those years of working as a qualified Montessori teacher, Mrs. Jones took pride in the continuous provision as she attended several courses and seminars in relation to Child Psychology and Development. She completed coursers including; “Certificate for SENCOs – Level 3”,“Autism Spectrum and Learning Difficulties in Early Years”,”Certificate in Lean Organisation and Management Techniques”,“Management and Leadership”,“Advanced Safeguarding and Child Protection”,“ENCO (Equalities Named Coordinator)”,“Trauma Perceptive Practice”,“Paediatric First Aid”,“NCFE – CACHE Level 5 – Diploma”,“Supporting Children’s Phonics and Early Mathematics”,“Social-Emotional and Mental Wellbeing and Behaviour”,“Certificate in Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health”,“Aiming High for Mathematics – A Real Approach to Early Mathematics”,“An Awareness of Type 1 Diabetics in Schools and Other Settings; Advanced Level”,“Radicalisation”, “How to Establish and Run a Montessori Nursery” and “Food Hygiene”.
After gaining a great deal of experience in her career as an Early Years expert for over ten years, Mrs. Jones decided to move away from London to countryside where she established her own Montessori setting with her husband. Mr. and Mrs. Jones combined their knowledge and skills thereby creating a unique, warm, and homely learning environment at Fluppet’s Montessori which they found in 2017. They are proud to be able to give local children the opportunity to experience and learn through the Montessori ethos and apparatus since then. Mrs. Jones continues to expend her role at Fluppet’s Montessori as a mentor, manager and a key worker and support both young children and newly graduated practitioners to reach their full potential. She currently lives in Great Dunmow with her husband, and cocker spaniel called Opie.
